Be prepared for total world domination (I always wanted to say that).
Kanye West premiered his new video and new song for “New Slaves” on building projections worldwide. Tonight’s he’s performing on the season finale of SNL. Only time will tell if “New Slaves” will be the song of choice. Check it out the video below courtesy of Billboard.
Not that Drake has to do much to stand out but in recent pics found online via my boxden homie TonyStarks21, Drake seems to be bringing back the oldschool gear and making it a hit now. In my opinion Im def a fan of those black own clothing companies. So bringing them back is nothing short of a mircle for the the owners and the designers. Can’t wait if its really happening. Fuck everybody else. Its all about Harlem! The ASAP Mob is def on their world takeover. With the remix being officially being released on iTunes the other day, the Ferg’s Work remix def has the streets on lock right now. For the remix he recruits what he says is only people that are in his phone which include ScHoolboy Q, French Montana, Trinidad James, and his ASAP group member ASAP Rocky. Drake’s OVOFest in Toronto has become a staple event during Caribana weekend. Having traveled to Toronto as a little kid and finally getting to experience my first OVO Fest (which was also the 2nd annual at that time), it was definitely a site to see. Drake gets in a zone where he puts on for his city with this being the first year that it’s a two day festivity.
On the first night, Frank Ocean and James Blake (think “Girls Love Beyonce” hook), are set to kick off the Fest with Drake closing it out the next night with ‘special guests’. The year I attended, Lil Wayne was fresh off the border literally when he arrived on stage. Since he’s made friends with a lot of artists in the industry, there’s really no telling who he’s going to bring out this year.
Tumblr has become the blog of choice for major artists like Beyonce and the timeless Ms. Hill, who’s been taking to her Tumblr as of late. Since being sentenced to three months in jail for tax evasion, the former Fugees member has been sharing information, thank you notes, and more via her blog. After it was announced that she signed a deal with Sony Music, she released a single called “Neurotic Society” shortly after. With most of her lyrics sounding drowned out, it’s great that she posted lyrics on her page. Peep game below.

Last night, The Fader offices had a packed house as DJ and producer, Statik Selektah previewed his upcoming studio album, Extended Play. Known for his love and knowledge of authentic hip hop, fans, featured artists, and industry heads alike got to step into his world as he broke down the album, track by track. What made this event very unique and refreshing was the fact that real hip hop aficionados got to walk up and take pictures with him, vibe with him, and even parlay with him as he shared the backdrop to the songs that came about today.
People in attendance included long time industry veteran (and DJ Premier’s manager), Phat Gary, featured artists Termanology and Ea$y Money, SiriusXM, WERS 88.9 FM in Boston, MTV, Urban Daily, HipHopDX, The Source, XXL Magazine, Duck Down Music, and The Fader team.
In addition to the aforementioned artists, other features include Freddie Gibbs, Styles P, Hit Boy, Freeway, Lecrae, Action Bronson, Tony Touch, and many more. As far as upcoming projects, in an interview with Xclusiveszone, Statik revealed a future collaboration with Jay-Z was in the works.
Statik Selektah’s Extended Play will be available in stores and online June 18th.

This came as a shocker when it was recently announced that Chris Brown’s next single will feature unheard Aaliyah vocals. The first time we heard the singer’s voice being used was on a single featuring Drake called “Enough Said.” So when there were talks of a posthumous Aaliyah album, it came as no surprise that it caused a bit of an uproar amongst fans and her family especially.
According to Rap-Up, Chris Brown announced his follow up single to “Fine China” would be “They Don’t Know” featuring Aaliyah, which he is seen in the Vine video below shooting a video for in California. This will be featured on his upcoming sixth studio album. Thanks to social media, a user recorded snippets of the song while Chris was shooting the video for it in California. Cheating has been the bain of a monogamous relationship’s existence but according to whom? We all define cheating differently based on our tolerance and our experiences. So how would you define cheating? To some, cheating is only a physical act. To others, a glance, a sexual thought, or emotional attachment to someone else is cheating. But what about the modern day question of “is monogamy a natural state for human beings?”
Can this question truly be answered? Well my guests will certainly try. From both perspectives, I speak to guests who have had their fair share of relationships, rendezvous’, and miscellaneous, which have lead to many other things.

My mama always told me to keep my head up when I’m walking. Looks like Kanye’s mother didn’t get that lesson because earlier today he was filmed by paparazzi trying to duck from paparazzi which later turned into him walking straight into a pole. TMZ was first with the news then the blogosphere went crazy. In the video you can see Kanye charging at a cameraman threatening him to take one more pic.
